Why we like it

The Keychron Q6 Max is the do-everything enthusiast board: a gasketed, CNC-aluminum 100% layout with screw-in stabilizers, layers of acoustic foam and double-shot PBT keycaps, tuned for a deep, quiet typing sound out of the box. It runs QMK/VIA so every key and layer is remappable, and adds 2.4GHz, Bluetooth (3 devices) and USB-C wired connectivity with hot-swappable switches. It is heavy and expensive, but nothing in this class matches its build.

  • 100% full-size aluminum case
  • QMK/VIA fully programmable
  • 2.4GHz / Bluetooth / wired
  • Hot-swappable, double-shot PBT

Pros & cons

What we like

  • Exceptional full-aluminum, gasket-mounted build
  • Tri-mode wireless + hot-swap + QMK/VIA
  • Great sound and feel out of the box

Worth noting

  • Heavy and expensive
  • Full-size footprint takes desk space
  • No dedicated software (QMK/VIA has a learning curve)
